Strength in Numbers

SIN stands for Strength In Numbers, and was created by Bryan Levinson. "We are a volunteer-based network of social groups for HIV+ gay men. The goal of SIN is to empower poz guys to build better, healthier relationships and learn more about HIV related issues from each other as peers. By providing this kind of social support to HIV+ gay men around the world (both through internet-based message boards and local social events) we hope to help to improve their quality of life, quality of health and their ability to help others."  SIN is our brother group and has chapters all over the globe.  DCYPS and SIN have a rich and wonderful history together as we share common goals and interestes. Just as DCYPS does here in the Washington area, "SIN exists to empower and connect poz guys, breaking down barriers of isolation and stigma.  And have as much fun as possible while we do our important fight against a very serious disease."

Poz I Am

Created by Robert Breining, and HIV+ 29 year old living in PA, POZ I Am is a social site much like others you may be familiar with.  Robert says,  "The POZIAM community is a Social Networking Website for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. The members of POZIAM consist of long term survivors, newly diagnosed individuals and couples. I wanted to create a safe environment for couples and individuals to ask questions... The site's purpose is to serve as a nonsexual online community."  It's free and you can meet other POZ guys around the globe.

Additionally Robert hosts a live radio talk show through the internet at blogtalkradio.com/poziam.  He, along with co-hosts Jack Macenroth (from Project Runway) and Jeromy Dunn (an activist in the Carolinas), interview a wide range of people, group leaders, and everyday people living with HIV/AIDS. The point of the show is about people "sharing real stories from real people living with HIV/AIDS." Listeners are able to call in via phone or skype, or they may join the online chat. Can't tune in to the live broadcasts (airing Wednesdays @ 2pm EST and every Sunday @ 9pm EST)? By logging in you are able to listen to previous episodes.
